Even though you will likely wire the funds needed for the closing, this is just a quick note to let you know to bring your checkbook.

Sometimes the math changes at the end for one reason or another, and if it does you might need to write a check.

You may also get a little money back too. Either way, we will make sure every dollar is accounted for.

You will also want to make sure and bring your driver’s license too!

And before I go, please listen closely to this.

Wire fraud is a serious concern in the real estate industry. You should always go and get wiring instructions directly from the closing attorney or title company.

Cyber criminals have been known to hack into emails, follow the transaction, set up a fake website and email account and get you to wire them money.

I am not trying to scare you, but be extremely careful. I suggest bringing a cancelled check to the closing directly and never communicating wiring instructions over email or even text message.

It’s just too risky.
